What is Palmsy?

Palmsy is an innovative device specially crafted for the visually impaired community, with the sole mission of transforming daily challenges into opportunities for independence and empowerment.

How does it work?

Understanding the diverse needs of its users, Palmsy offers a seamless blend of technology and usability. The device has 3 components: a camera, a main board and a glove. The device is portable and has a slick design. The software is based on Artificial Intelligence.

Our mission is to help visually impaired individuals comes from a profound recognition of the challenges they face daily, particularly in accessing information that many of us take for granted.We were moved by the idea that technology could offer a bridge to a more inclusive world, where reading and interacting with text isn't limited by sight.

When did it start?

It all started with "Academia DPIT," an IT contest where ideas spark and the future is written by the hands of the young. What brought us together wasn't just the shared interest in technology but a common vision to use it for something bigger than ourselves.

After DPIT, we gained recognition on ProTV, showcasing our innovative work.

Following this, we were honored to be included in the prestigious "100 Tineri pentru Dezvoltarea României" program by Dan Voiculescu Foundation, celebrating young changemakers.

After, we had the honor of winning the "Most Innovative Product 2023" award at Gala10 pentru Cluj, a testament to our commitment to pushing boundaries and creating an impactful solution.

Building on this momentum, we participated in Innovation Labs, where we advanced to the semifinals and benefited greatly from its mentorship program.

Inspired by the support and guidance from Innovation Labs, we continued developing our project and are now actively participating in FIX Cluj, a program focused on fostering innovation and growth.
